commentary "Mending Wall" by Frost

« Mending Wall » is a poem written by R. Frost, extracted from North of Boston, first published in 1914. One pertinacious stanza in blank verse characterizes the general aspect of this poem. The parable of the contend, throughout the text, emphasizes the lack of communication amongst men, blocked by a border.


At the beginning, there is a brief rendering of the beleaguer separating the persona and his neighbour. The persona asks himself why a wall is need in the midst of properties and people => boundary.
