New Coasts and Poseidons Son by Homer explains how Odysseus tells the Phaeacians of his excursion returning from the Trojan War. First, when Odysseus and his crew hands were on their way back end from the war, genus Zeus sent them a storm that sent them to an island that was inhabited by the Lotus Eaters. The inhabitants of the island gave some of the intoxicating flowers to some of Odysseus crewmen which made them exit about any thoughts of returning home and made them besides think about eating more flowers. and so Odysseus currently forced his crewmen to leave by tying them to their stations until they came back to their senses. Later, they sail to the land of the Kyklopes, one- eyed giants. Odysseus and his crew come across a cave with sheep and linger around until a Kyklops, Polyphemos the son of Poseidon, arrives. He is nice at first but thence he eats a few crewmen and holds Odysseus and the other men captive in the cave.
While Odysseus is stuck in the cave, he develops a plan to escape. He then hardens a wooden staff and when Polyphemos returns he gets him drunk with the wine from his ship. When Polyphemos passes out, Odysseus stabs the wood stick into Polyphemos eye. Then when morning comes Odysseus and his crewmen escape by clinging to the bellies of the sheep and return to their ship. Polyphemos then throws a boulder at the ship, which was out of reach, and sends up a plea to his father, Poseidon, to make their journey home difficult. If you want to get a full essay, order it on our website: Orderessay
