Is Feminism Dead?
What is womens lib? in that respect argon numerous different interpretations of the word
womens lib. However, most people checker that feminism is the theory that men
and women should be equal politically, economically and socially. The womens rightist
movement is a group of men and women who believe in feminism and be trying
to eliminate the inequality between men and women.
Feminism, as it was head start known, has almost died out completely. Feminist
groups today are integrating many more issues into feminism. This seems to be
a good thing at first. However, it is driving women outdoor(a) from feminism and many
women are insulted or embarrassed to be called feminists because of the
negative connotation feminism has adopted.
There are many different types of feminism. The theory that there are
fundamental personality differences between men and women, and that womens
differences are special and should be celebrated is called cultural feminism. This
theory of feminism supports the notion that there are biological differences
between men and women, for example, women are kinder and more gentle then
men, star to the mentality that if women ruled the world there would be no
wars.
Cultural feminism is the theory that wants to overcome sexism by
celebrating womens special qualities, womens ways, and womens experiences,
often believing that the womans way is the better way.
Another type, individualistic feminism, is based upon individualist or
libertarian (minimum government or anarchocapitalist) philosophies. The primary
focus is individual autonomy, rights, liberty, freedom and diversity. Moderate feminism is a branch of feminism that tends to be populated mostly by
younger women or women who have not now experienced discrimination.
They tend to question the need for further effort, and do not think that radical
feminism...
I believe this is the best essay I have read on here yet. In the aside I was under the impression that feminists were anti-men, anti-childbirth anti-everythings who were too negative, and I -never- wanted to be associated with that, but as I got older I realized that I dont have to be like that to stalemate up for my own rights as a woman, and I willing now gladly take the title of a feminist. I believe this essay should go further in educating woman on their rights, and how they do not have to be any of those stereotypes to stand up for their rights!
The ideas and true meaning are still valued by women, just not feminism? Sounds somewhat contradictory.
