Different chemical elements have shaped my perspective on what I view as mannish and feminine qualities. My immediate family advance me in a way that, objet dart not specifically discouraging, I was predisposed to choose more than socially masculine traits. My peers created more of an ultimatum on what was manly or girly, discouraging me from specifically feminine traits. Society, overall, has laid out the stipulations of what it means to be anthropoid or female. Ultimately, my perception of gender is manifested as a total of all three of these factors.
My family has been a huge determining factor in my gender. Yet n ever so to discourage, my family always seemed to heavily progress me in behaviors in which were more accepted socially to be known as masculine. For example, growing up I was in truth sports induced. Not because my p atomic number 18nts constantly pressured me to become a super athlete, precisely more because it was good exercise and I was having a sell of fun; not to mention it occupied my time while my parents dealt with my four other brothers and sisters. Where my gender was challenged, are what kinds of sports my parents were encouraging me to move into in: basketball, football, baseball, and track and field.
All of these are viewed to be the more stereotypical masculine sports versus the gymnastics, horseback riding and cheerleading my sisters were encouraged to reach in, which would be sought as more feminine. Not that my parents ever discouraged these sports, but I was more intrigued to participate in what they encouraged more dramatically.
Peers have had a tremendous concussion on my gender also. The idea that one can be too girly, when you are a boy, or too manly, when you are a girl was a constant threat to me.
