Industry Overview Introduction This Business Ratio Report focuses on the leading 137 companies active in the vehicle rental and leasing industry. At the time of publication, there were nine companies which had not filed accounts in the 2008/09 period. A further 18 companies have filed accounts subsequent to the cut-off date, and these are presented in the 2009/10 Recently Filed Accounts column of the Performance League Tables and germane(predicate) Company Profiles, but are not used in any of the analysis. The Report is divided into one-third subsectors, each profiling companies with different key interests. The breakdown of subsectors is displayed in prototype 2.1, below. During this period, sales witnessed an overall improvement of 30.3 percent after rising from £34.2 million in 2006/07 to £44.6 million in 2008/09. Pre-tax profits observed a similar positive trend, change magnitude by 11.7 percent from £3.2 million in the initial study year to £3.6 million in the third year.
